भारत एक है

सदियों से भारत एक ऐसा देश रहा है जिसने सभी का स्वागत किया है। फ़िर चाहे वो किसी भी धर्म या सम्प्रदाय का क्यों न हो। पूरे विश्व में इतनी सांस्कृतिक तथा धार्मिक विविधताओं वाला शायद भारत ही एक देश है। हाँ, अतीत में हमारे यहां आपसी मतभेद और झगडे़ रहे हैं। किसके नहीं होते? हर देश में ऐसा होता है। परंतु महत्त्वपूर्ण बात यह है कि अपने मतभेदों के बावजूद, जब बात राष्ट्रीयता की आती है, तब हम सब एक ऐसे अविभाजित समाज के रूप में सामने आते हैं, जिसे अपने देश से प्यार है।

साम्प्रदायिक सौहार्द्र के प्रतीक के रूप में पिछले कुछ अरसे में शायद अपनी तरह का एक अनोखा उदाहरण सामने आया है। कल गुजरात के एक हिन्दू मंदिर में दो मुस्लिम जोड़ों ने अपना निक़ाह पढ़वाया। यह हमारा उत्तर है, उन सभी लोगों के लिए जो गुजरात की जनता को अभी भी धर्मांध और हिंसक भीड़ समझते हैं।

Abdul Sheikh (48), who works at Junagadh Civil Hospital approached Satyam Seva Mandal, a local NGO, seeking financial help for the weddings of his son Asif and daughter, Najma. "We were ready to help. But we told the family that the wedding ceremony has to take place in our building which houses a Ram mandir. They happily agreed," said Mansukh Vaja, a local activist.
"We saw this as an opportunity to set an example. I discussed the issue with my relatives and our maulavi saheb readily approved the idea," said Sheikh.
